Michael MacRitchie – Vice President

MGI  was founded by Michael MacRitchie who brings a wealth of industry leadership and expertise in entertainment marketing, sponsorship, endorsement and brand building through media platforms.  Michael pioneered international music and sports sponsorship programs in China as Vice President of  Emma Entertainment & Ticketmaster China. Overseeing  programs for  the USA Basketball pre- Olympic games, concerts like Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman, John Legend, Maroon 5, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and connected brands like Chivas, Dell, Diesel, General Motors, Henkal & Puma through these entertainment experiences. Before coming to China, Michael created advertising programs and sponsorships for the European Football Cup, London Olympic bid, Sony Tropfest in Sydney & Schoolie’s Week on the Gold Coast with Screen Media and OTN. Prior to being a facilitator of branded entertainment, Michael worked as an artist agent, founding  MJ entertainment which negotiated contracts on behalf of touring artists for the Hennessey Artistry program and Anchor beer TVC. Michael also has media advertising expertise  helping  launch the largest LED network China has seen which was sold to the Tulip group. He learnt that he was passionate about writing and entertainment as he cut his teeth  as a young reporter in the sports room at Channel 9 in Sydney.

Lily Lu-Music Consultant- USA

Lily Lu has worked in music, events and marketing for over 14 years.  Born in Beijing, raised in both Chinese and American cultures, she now resides in New York City, and co-owns seed, a music marketing boutique in distribution and licensing.  Now in its sixth year, seed’s 70+ music clients include A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records, Diplo’s Mad Decent, MSTRKRFT’s Teenage Riot Records, Andy Butler’s mr. intl, Toyota’s music marketing initiative Scion Audio/Visual, French fashion/music brand Kitsuné, and Brooklyn’s clothing brand Mishka.Prior to starting seed, Lily has experience in event production/execution with brands such as Heineken, Target, Mountain Dew, Amstel Light, Dos Equis, Toyota/Scion, Shure DJ Needles, Puma, The American Legacy Foundation’s truth Campaign, as well as sponsorship projects with General Motor’s Saturn brand, Grammy winning artist Herbie Hancock, and SCRATCH Movie Tour.  Lily has also had the pleasure in working on various projects involving artists from around the globe, including Paul van Dyk, Dimitri from Paris, John Digweed, The Flaming Lips, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Belle & Sebastian, and Vybz Cartel, just to name a few.

Andrew Collins – Business Advisor- China

Andrew, a proud Australian, completed his undergraduate degree in Business at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. Since then Andrew took on multiple challenges both within a corporate landscape at Jack Morton Worldwide and then more aggressively with his own entrepreneurial ventures. In China Andrew became known as the ‘Mailman’ after acquiring the leading alternative media company Mailman China. Andrew then took the company to its 10th year and managed to grow the already popular product PostKard Media to new heights. In 2008 Andrew was recognized for his dedication to entrepreneurship by winning the ‘Top 30 Entrepreneur under 30′ by a Telstra sponsored award in Australia, featured across the Australian Anthill Magazine. Andrew has worked in many business ventures and is helping MGI with social media strategy, marketing and international client service. Andrew is highly regarded for his insight, ideas and is seen as an expert in the advertising, marketing and media field.

Andrew is a passionate creative thinker eager to develop new and innovative insights to problem solving. Having worked in the advertising industry for over 6 years, he has helped to develop engaging campaigns for such notable brands as Toyota, Kia, Air New Zealand, James Squire, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile.

He has a penchant for writing and enjoys exploring topics around all entertainment, popular culture plus human psychology and behaviour.

Based in Sydney, Andrew enjoys snow skiing, cricket, rugby and trying to stay fit.  Here at MGI, Andrew is driving content from an original vantage point, as well as garnering brand and entertainment insights.

 

Jeremy Brennan – Technology Consultant-USA

Despite being from the worlds smallest continent, Jeremy knows a thing or two about the internet and technology, he built his first website in 1994, the same year Netscape released the first real consumer web browser. Back in his home town Sydney Jeremy founded the online music magazine GrooveCrew and went on to design one of Australia’s first personalized internet portals, excite.com.au while working for Excite@Home. When @Home Australia was bought out by Optus, Jeremy became a Design and Build Specialist for Optus’ Internet Engineering arm before moving to New York on a whim. Since arriving in New York in 2003, Jeremy has setup a successful technology consulting business, with a diverse list of clients across, Film, Fashion, Construction, Environment, Entertainment and Music industries. When he’s not providing technology oversight for MGI or his other clients, you will find him enjoying the finer things in life. A lover of great food, Jeremy has his own artisanal ice cream business bringing Australian flavors to the streets of New York. With a strong social conscience, Jeremy volunteers with the NY Redcross and has spent time in Africa helping families displaced by war and those suffering from HIV/AIDS.

Hannah Kamaie – Legal Advisor-China

Hannah.jpgHannah is an English national living in Shanghai. Hannah studied in both England and France, having read European Law at the University of Warwick, French law at L’université Montesquieu – Bordeaux IV, and undertaken the legal practice course at the College of Law, London.  She has since worked in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai, practicing corporate and commercial law. At MGI Entertainment Hannah will be drawing on her commercial experience in both China and Europe to advise on strategy.
